PlowOps is excited to announce an expanded relationship with the Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT). After evaluating the PlowOps unique snowplow management system, WYDOT decided to expand PlowOps’ usage by making our platform the core technology stack on all mobile apps in the trucks and for customer-facing information sharing. WYDOT has been a leader in applying new mobile technology to plowing operations since 2014.
As a result of their expansion, WYDOT has quadrupled the number of vehicles using PlowOps for the 2021-22 winter season, resulting in more effective coordination of road clearing during inclement weather. At the main operations center, WYDOT coordinators will utilize the web portal version of PlowOps to manage their snowplow fleet during storm events, to maximize communications with snowplow operators and to improve efficiency. Since WYDOT manages the entirety of the state’s highways, PlowOps will continue to be an effective service for keeping folks throughout the state safe.
Kevin Cox from WYDOT is excited to see how the expansion affects snowplow operations. [PlowOps] will improve communication between our snowplows and the Transportation Management Center (TMC). The in-vehicle tablets should provide a good platform for transmitting information and help minimize our heavy radio traffic. We also hope the location information, both current and historical, can help improve our dispatching and snowplow operations.”
