Deschutes County Adopts PlowOps Resulting in Operational Improvements

As the interest with PlowOps has been exponentially growing over the last few months, we recently signed on Deschutes County as the next user of the platform. Based in central Oregon, they have implemented our system in 26 vehicles for the Winter 2021-22 season.

Before PlowOps, Deschutes County utilized a GPS tracking system for snow plow operations that did not include a dashboard tablet for their operators. Our offerings matched their needs to provide drivers with real-time information on roads being plowed. PlowOps has made a huge difference in their plowing operations, particularly with their new employees.

John Anderson, Information Systems Analyst at Deschutes County, shared how excited the operators were to have PlowOps in the vehicle. “One of the operators, a newer member of the team, didn’t know the roads very well, and he was super excited to have the dashboard tablet.” While the experienced operators know the roads like the back of their hand, newer drivers enjoy having the dashboard to direct them and differentiate roads maintained by other agencies.

Looking forward, Deschutes County’s primary goal with PlowOps is increased awareness for their operators. Mr. Anderson explained, “Equipment Operators need to know which roads to plow, since there is a mix of county roads and other roads that aren’t maintained by the County.” Additionally, PlowOps allows their drivers to see where other plow operators are and what road they’re plowing.

As a new client with PlowOps, Mr. Anderson also shared how effectively we onboarded Deschutes County. “It’s all been really positive. When we decided to go with PlowOps, things moved really quickly, and we didn’t have to wait very long. It was immediate, which was really nice. So far, we’ve found things we think would be great to have – little changes – and we’ve made suggestions to PlowOps, and they have been really responsive.”

PlowOps is dedicated to helping our clients succeed, and we look forward to how we can assist Deschutes County in winters to come. Would you like to take your snowplow operations to the next level? Then please reach out to us today for a free demo!
